Chatelaine's Page
The Society for Creative Anachronism is a non-profit group that was created over 40 years ago and has active members all over the world. This excuse to have fun while learning is based on the history and culture of Europe (primarily) between 600 AD and 1600 AD. Simply put, this means that we are keeping alive all the activities that were known, done or studied during this time.
This means anything....
- from spinning and dyeing the threads used to make cloth to sewing the garments everyone wears...
- from making the bows and arrows to mastering the art of archery...
- from re-creating the recipes to cooking for the crowds...
- from making the inks to creating the colorful documents we use to proclaim people's accomplishments...
- from creating games to challenge our younger members to leading activities for the young...
- from making the armor and weapons to becoming a Knight...
- from becoming a Lady to becoming a Queen...
By way of introduction, I am Lady Anastasia, Chatelaine for the Shire of Border Vale Keep.
I am here to introduce newcomers to the SCA and assist existing members of the Society for Creative Anachronism who are new to the Augusta GA. area.
At the bottom of this page are on-line links to other helpful web pages.
If you're interested in attending an event, the easiest way to find out what is happening is to go to the Atlantian Calendar of Events.
Once you become a paid member of the SCA, you'll automatically receive the Kingdom's monthly newsletter "The Acorn".
